A heartfelt Thank You for year TWO!

Happy Birthday! (1).png

In celebration of the Anniversary of Experiences On Demand’s launch, I’m writing to express my gratitude to our clients and share more about the unique moments that led me to start this company.

First, thank you to my early clients, which is every client I’ve worked with since 2019! You invested in an early entrepreneur - a proud Colombian - Guamanian woman who was in the initial stages of building out her portfolio of events. Your trust, support, and partnership is the foundation to why EOD has grown tremendously in our first two years, and it is an honor to continue supporting your work.

My reflection at this 2-year anniversary is grounded in gratitude for the experiences that have come to define who I am and what I do. While I love celebrating special occasions, I don’t think of my life as linear years made up of months, weeks and days…  but as a series of memorable moments both personal and professional that have defined and inspired me like….

Holiday Gatherings: Whether it was Thanksgiving or Christmas, my dad - a Sergeant First Class  in the Army -  would always make room at our family dinners for any soldiers who couldn’t be home with their loved ones. These festive celebrations reminded me of the importance of caring for others while also being in community with one another.

My 18th birthday: My mom had a sheet cake delivered to my high school, Air Academy,  with my cheerleading picture screen printed on the top. She made sure there was enough cake for every single kid to have a big slice. For that one day, we weren't in a military base high school lunchroom segregated by lunch tables. We were all at my birthday party.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations: Every year from September 15 - October 15, I had the privilege of designing community receptions, such as a pinning ceremony, to bring together national Latinx leaders and educators to advance the fight for educational equity in our work on behalf of our Hispanic communities.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Staff Spaces: Over a number of years, I developed and honed a staff engagement model that celebrated the collective efforts of staff members by creating intentional and inclusive affinity spaces through Latino Staff Summits at Teach For America. While it’s impossible to describe the energy in the room, I’ll never forget the feeling of 300+ staff members coming together to engage and empower one another so that we could take collective action to move our community forward.

New Year’s Eve: My family’s annual party defined by the traditions that were passed to me and that I will continue to share with my friends and family. From eating twelve frozen grapes at the stroke of midnight for a year of good health to dancing in a circle with a suitcase in hand to envision the adventures in the years ahead, I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year.

I can close my eyes and remember each detail of all these events and when I do, it’s so clear to me that these moments don’t just happen. We create them. And when I reflect on these memories, I know that this is where I am  meant to be. Where my passion, purpose and practice are in alignment so that I can help others create these memorable moments.

Simply put… Curating experiences with purpose, compassion, and joy can inspire our families, our teams, and our lives. When I think of your convenings, your family reunions, your holidays…  I’m reminded that our time together is limited.  Tomorrow isn’t promised.  My mission is to make every moment -- every experience -- one that will leave you and yours with this same feeling of gratitude for one another and the precious time we have together.

Finally, thank you to the family and friends who made EOD possible.  I’m grateful for my village of friends and colleagues who have supported me from day one when EOD was a side hustle...  From taking my headshots, designing my website, supporting events, and offering encouragement - I wouldn’t be celebrating two years without you.

And a special thank you to my husband and partner in life, Kwame, and to my family, you have been with me every step of the way and I couldn’t be happier than to celebrate this milestone alongside you.

Thank YOU for celebrating this moment, this dream come true and for taking a few moments to read and to celebrate this important EOD milestone!
